Fictional Characters I (Addi) Would Date If They Were No Longer Fictional.

This list is a little different. Hell, I don't even know how to label it. But, I was watching "Definitely, Maybe" the other night, and I couldn't help but wish I could date one of the female leads, and that got me thinking further. And as OCD minds like mine go, I had to create a list. So, below you will find some of the most interesting, beautiful, feisty, strong and funny women ever "created" from the world of Cinema, Television, and a few Books. Enjoy
1a. “April Hoffman” from Definitely, Maybe, played by Ilsa Fisher
This movie was over looked by a lot of people, but not me. I love it. It has climbed up my list of best romantic comedies of all time and probably sits in the top 5. This scene below, is one of my favorites. I need a girl that will fight with me, that will call me on my shit, and that is smart enough to put me in my place when needed. April Hoffman is my perfect fictional match.

1b. “Joey Potter” from Dawson’s Creek, played by Katie Holmes
If you knew me as a teenager and in my early twenties, this will come as no surprise. Katie Holmes was my dream girl, up until the changed her last name to Cruise. This clip is from the classic first episode.

3. “Sam” from The Perks of Being a Wallflower
I cannot present a video of a person from a novel. And to be completely honest, I may have an exagarrated idea of this woman. I fall in love with her every time I read the book.

And Sam looked at the paper and then she looked at me.
"Charlie. . . Have you ever kissed a girl?"
I shook my head no. It was so quiet.
"Not even when you were little?"
I shook my head no again. And she looked very sad.
She told me about the first time she was kissed. She told me that it was with one of her dad's friends. She was seven. And she told nobody except Mary Elizabeth and then Patrick a year ago. And she started to cry. And she said something that I won't forget. Ever.
"I know that you know that I like Craig. And I know that I told you not to think of me that way. And I know that we can't be together like that. But I want to forget all those things for a minute. Okay?"
"Okay"
"I want to make sure that the first person you kiss loves you. Okay?"
"Okay" She was crying harder now. And I was, too, because when I hear something like that I just can't help it.
"I just want to make sure of that. Okay?"
"Okay"
And she kissed me. And it was the kind of kiss that I could never tell my friends about out loud. It was the kind of kiss that made me know that I was never so happy in my whole life.

4. “Veronica Mars” from Veronica Mars, played by Kristen Bell
This is the best tv show you didn't watch. I don't know why I find sarcasm so attractive. I give a lot of shit to people, and so far, only my co-blogger can keep up with me. I guess that's why we have remained friends for so long.

5. “She” from Once, played by Marketa Irglova
A woman without name, already sexy right? Anyways, a girl that can sing and play and instrument will always have a leg up over others. She may not be classically beautiful, but to steal a line from Perks of Being a Wallflower she is uniquely beautiful.

6. “Winnie Cooper” from The Wonder Years, played by Danica McKellar
I know this is a little ewww. You know, Winnie being a kid in this show, and me just turning 29, however, screw that. I was a kid once, and when I was a kid, I LOVED this girl. Still too this day, i have a thing for Danica McKellar. This is just my favorite clip from the entire series, it has more to do with Kevin than Winnie, but its just beautiful.

7. “Penny Lane” from
Almost Famous, played by Kate Hudson
How can you not want to kick it with the coolest chick ever to grace the silver screen. She just oozes coolness. This is a clip that she doesn't even have a line in, and its fully engaging. Rock on.

8. “Allie Hamilton (young)” from
The Notebook, played by Rachel McAdams
Does loving this movie give me a vagina? You know what, I don't care. I would give 37,000 to be Ryan Gosling in this movie. Rachel McAdams is top 10 and borderline top 5. This clip kinda sucks. But the studio likes to pull scenes and disable embedding for this movie, so, this is all I gots.

9. “Sandra Templeton Bloom” from Big Fish, played by Alison Lohman
If you have not seen this movie, you are missing ou
t on one of the finest pictures in the last 10 years. Somehow it got lost in the shuffle. This, girl is number 1 on my "top 5 celebrity's" list. This is one of the best scenes in the movie, in any movie actually.

10. “Kris Williams” from
Ghost Hunters, played by Kris Williams
Ok, so Kris is not a fictional character, but I am including her in here because, well, she is one cool girl. And, lets be honest, reality stars are just characters of themselves. So, she counts. And she is hot.

11. “Kelly Kapowski” from
Saved by The Bell, played by Tiffani-Amber Thiessen
I think I would lose my guy card if I left her off. Seriously.

12. “Diane Court” from
Say Anything, played by Ione Skye
I don't know if this is more about me really digging on Diane Court, or the fact that I wish I was Lloyd Dobbler. Anyways. I would drive the world to find a girl like this. I love intelligence. It is the single most attractive thing about a woman. This is just a trailer for the film, but it makes me want to toss it in right now.

13. “Sam” from
Garden State, played by Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman is top five, easy. Now, Sam has her issues as a person, frankly, she is a liar. But, she is fun, genuine, loving, and strangely honest. And any girl that will tell you a song will change your life is a girl I have to meet. I would date her in a second. As I am writing this, I think I may have her too low on this list. But, laziness wins out...

14. “Lucy Carrigan” from Across the Universe, played by Evan Rachel Wood
She makes me want to go to the 60's. She is carefree and heartfelt. Smart and sensitive. Strong and caring.

15. “Claire Colburn” from
Elizabethtown, played by Kristen Dunst
Disclaimer; my co-blogger Stevie, hates this girl, and I love her. Especially in this. I want a whirlwind girl like this to just take over my world.

16. “Lauren Conrad” from
The Hills, played by Lauren Conrad
Busted. Another reality star. And this one may get me made fun of. But she is easily one of the most beautiful woman in the world. And she is pretty strong. I like a girl that stands up for herself.

17. “Ainsley Hayes” from The West Wing, played by Emily Procter
I love smart women. I love smart woman that can talk. And even though she is a Republican, I would date the hell out of that girl. She would be so much fun to lose a fight too.

18. “Mary Ann” from
Gilligan’s Island, played by Dawn Wells
Classic. Simply Classic. Some people might be a Ginger fan, but not this guy. Mary Ann all the way. She was Joey Potter before Joey Potter was. The ultimate girl next door.

19. “Beth Cooper” from I Love You, Beth Cooper (novel)

For the fun factor alone, she would be fun to date, once or twice. Not the, lets make this serious kinda girl in the long run. But boy would she be fun.

"Denis could think of no logical reason why he should not attempt to mate with Beth Cooper.

There were no laws explicitly against it.

They were of the same species, and had complementary sex organs, most likely, based on extensive mental modeling Denis had done."

20. “Nora Clark” from Step Up, played by Jenna Dewan
What I mentioned above about Marketa playing an instrument and singing, well same thing goes for a girl that can dance. Something about it. Not sure we would get along, considering I fall over putting on my shoes almost every morning, but I'm not against giving it a go.

Wow! I have so much to say! Okay at first I thought you put Joey Potter second and I was going to call bs but then I saw you split it up into a and b. Isla Fisher doesn't do it for me so I was a little surprised by this entry. Alright, ones I thought were brilliant: Penny Lane (absolutely- me too!), Sam from Perks (she just had that mysterious, kind of broken loveliness about her),Veronica Mars because in that show I loved her even though I find her annoying in most everything else, and surprise surprise- Claire Colburn because even though I have a deep hatred of Kristen Dunsts' teeth I actually think this character is quite lovely. I'd think twice about young Allie Hamilton- she might be too snobby for you. By the way I am utterly shocked that Zoe Deschanel is not on this list even once!!!

Oh and although you know Garden State is one of my favorite movies I wouldn't date Zach Braff in this or Natalie Portman. For one Andrew has to figure his -ish out before I'd deal w/ him- he's too much still on the journey to becoming himself. Sam on the other hand reminds me of a girl I once knew and she's just too damn immature. On the other hand I may consider dating Mark simply because Peter Sarsgaard plays him brilliantly and he knows who he is. Or maybe the guy that watches the Quary- he was an interesting dude.

Yeah, I tried to get Zoe on there. I looked through her imdb history. and the only character that I would want to day is Summer, but only for the first half of the film. I hated her by the end.
You know who I left off tho? "Ana Pascal" from Stranger Than Fiction, played Maggie Gyllenhall, thats a girl that I would date.

And Allie is just so cute. And I love a girl that can fight. Strong, independent women just get me going. But I know what your saying about snobbiness and you make a good point. Maybe we swict Ana for Allie.

Yeah, "Sam" from garden state has a brokenness about her. but we both know I'm a fixer. So, i could handle it.
